This story tells you how the wolves got their wings.
There was a distant valley that is as big as a forest. The valley has maples, evergreens and fruit trees. The animals consist of birds, rabbits, panthers, jaguars and other species (change to the valley has various trees and animals living in these lands). Everyone lives in harmony here even the tribe that lives not too far from the forest.
There are two different habitations (add, in these lands) which are caves and thick undergrowth. The caves are home to the dragons in the mounting part of the forest (change to a different word) while the thick undergrowth is for the wolves located on the forest floor. Dragons sleep in the caves and the wolves have dens in the thick undergrowth.
Sapphire (add what she looks like) was a young wolf that lived in the valley all her life and knows every creature that inhabits the land and surrounding areas. She grew up alongside dragons and is very fond of them.
One day while walking through the forest, (change to a different word) Sapphire and heard footsteps in the distance. She stealthy walked toward the sound till she could hear the creature breathing and peered between two shrubs to see a tall man. Eying him curiously to see what he was doing and from observing him it seems he was looking for something. After observing him for awhile, she turned her attention to her surroundings to locate a viewpoint. Her eye catches a steep hill in the distant, perfect for studying from afar. Like a ghost she went to (change to twards) it.
The person (add, she is observing from afar) has, (change to had) silver hair and was carrying a sword on a black leather belt at his side. He also had on steel armor from head to toe and his hair flows from his helmet and rests on his back. Covering his feet what appears to be pointed sabatons, which are (change to were also) colored silver.
The man continues to walk until he reaches a mound of dirt, then pauses and turns to look at Sapphire. Sapphire then crouched to make herself small as possible, this way it seems like she is not there.
(move here and add to Sapphire) “Wolf I know you are up there spying on me. Come on out so I can see you.” The man called out.
Sapphire went down the steep hill calmly and with her (add head held how, chest out and,) guard up. She pauses at the base of the hill and looks at the stranger from afar.
Add The Stranger looked at Sapphire with calm eyes, and spoke softly to her, “It's alright I won’t harm you. The stranger said.
Add, she locks eyes with his and stiffened her muscles. “Who are you?” Sapphire said.
“My name is Leo, by the way your fur is a very beautiful snow white and your eyes are a brilliant blue which sparkles in the sunlight.”
Sapphire relaxes a little. “Thank you and my name is Sapphire. What brings you to these parts of the wood?”
(change to have Leo looking for a new home but has ran away from the people of his tribe. Sapphire finds him but he was looking for a new comrade anyways and just happened that she stumbled into him. Later in the story he gains the ability of longer living than any man and gains the fountain of youth. He will still die but not for many many many years.)
“I come looking for a good clearing to have as my own. With the clearing I will be able to build and farm. You see I come for my own piece of land and territory.”
“I see well these parts of the wood belong to wolves and the mountains belong to the dragons. If you try anything to harm either of the clans here I will do whatever it takes to stop you and run you off.”
(explain why he says this)“Does not worry I am not like the other people of my tribe who are greedy and wants to steal the land of the dragons.”
“I have been keeping a close eye on your tribe from a safe distance. Have you any news then?”
“Yes I actually do have news for you. Send a message to the dragons that the people will claim their land and drive them to the harsher parts of the world. There is a war coming for the territories.”
(need to add if you are friend. . . but if your foe. . . type of sentence scene. To clearafy what I am trying to say)“If you are a friend you will help save the plants and animals from your tribe. We have special and rare breeds of plants for and the animals here only strive in the forest, without the forest they would disappear. “
“That seems fair and I will help save the plants and animals from my terrible and greedy tribe.”
“Thank you and I bid you farewell.”
Sapphire watched him as he went on his way deeper into the wood until he was out of sight. She then turned her attention to the sky but saw nothing other than clouds and sunshine. After observing the sky for a few minutes and saw no dragons, (add she tilted her head back and howled her song to them. One roared back, after that she,) She then gazed at the largest mountain to her left and lowered her gaze to straight ahead, so she knows where she is going.
Sapphier gets worried that there is no dragons flying over head and that one roars back weakly
She started to walk but quickly paced herself into a run. Hearing her heavy breathing she steadied her pace and continued to head at the mountain. When she reached the base of the mountain she looked up to see if a dragon was there,(add she was relived to see one on the high cliff and was lucky) luckily there was a dragon. (this way I explain why it was lucky that a dragon was there.
(add this to the above paragraph) Thinking of a way to get his attention she decides to howl up at him. The dragon hears her call and looks down at her.
The dragon has white scales, green eyes, and large light gray wings. On top of his head he has two medium gray horns.
“Hey there Sapphire, what brings you here?”
“Sapiens Dux I have bad news, we have humans coming to take land from the dragons and the forest animals.”
“I see then we have a war coming.”
“Yes so you also feel it.”
“Yes I also feel it, now to get ahead of the humans by creating a new breed of wolves.”
“A new breed but how would we do such a thing.”
“Think about it Sapphire.”
“She pauses to think it over and then her face let up.”
“I never heard of such a thing but if you’re willing I am to.”
“Good then its settled we will cross breed to create this new breed of wolves.”
“Now where would we go Dux?”
“I suggest we go away from the dragons but still close to reach them.”
“Ah I see then perhaps my side of the forest will do us good.”
“I think so.”
The dragon jumped over the ridge to the ground and followed sapphire to her part of the forest. Sapphire led him to this large cave formed by boulders and fallen trees. They both went inside and formed the new breed of wolves that would latter help against the people taking land from the forest dwellers.
Within a year`s time the new wolves we flourishing and growing strongly. The new breed of wolves now have wings and some have spines and spike tails. No scales were present on their bodies but a few have dragon eyes. Some wolves even learned how to breathe fire and roar rather than howl. The dwellings for the dragons and wolves are mud dens and underground bunkers for caves.
Sapphire now has four children and several grandchildren. She is a very proud mother and so is their father Dux. Dux now teaches the wolves how to fly and breathe fire. Sapphire teaches them how to hunt and fight. Both have their own set of fighting skills and so the new wolves now have a wide range of skills.
One day Leo had returned to tell sapphire that he kept his word and that the people of his tribe are still readying themselves for the upcoming territory battle. Sapphire was pleased with him and so they became friends. Now Leo has befriended some of the flying wolves and so the pack has one more protector.
Dux waited for the right time to go back to the other dragons to tell them where he has been and what will happen in the near future. The dragons then moved to the new location to train with the rest of the pack. After they reached high rank they would return to their original home to guard it against the greedy people when they show up.
Time seems to go by fast since everyone is busy preparing for what will happen. Days and days went by and so far no threat but Sapphire and Dux both feel the threat of the people. Even the forest senses this threat but she rests easy knowing that she has guardians looking out for her. The trees, plants and animals flourish in this time frame.
After Sapphire and Dux created the new breed of flying wolves, from that moment fourth all the wolves have wings and dragon abilities. The wolf`s wings are to remind them that there will be a war, calamity, or conflict between people, dragons and wolves.
